What is Intuition.

Intuition is the ability to understand something instinctively without the need for conscious reasoning.

Types of Intuition:

We tend to be intuitive dominant in different areas of our senses.

Clairvoyance (sight)

Clairaudience (sound)

Psychic Olfactory (smelling)

Psychic (Tasting)

Psychometry (sensing)

Why Do Many People Ignore Their Intuition?

Has your intuition ever been wrong? Have you ever met anyone that said their intuition is always wrong? Your answer should be never, yet many people continue to ignore its promptings often with hindsight regret.

If intuition is never wrong why do we not tune into it as a matter of priority?

in this post I focus on why we don't always listen to our intuition, I provide insights into previously hidden sacred knowledge about this subject and discuss how we can connect to our intuitive centre. A useful and free resource provides a personalized reading that will help you to understand your personal energetic make-up and intuitive centre and show you how your system is designed to make decisions.

What is Intuition.

Intuition is commonly associated with a gut feel or hunch and it is a feeling from your subconscious which is trying to tell you something. It is quite common to hear people say that they had a hunch or they regret not listening to their gut feeling.

The Left Brained Rational Western Mind

the roots to Western civilization can be traced back to ancient Greece from which the Western world founded its world-view. Under the philosophies of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle and a belief system founded on linear thinking, and reasoning which requires all knowledge to be passed through a system of quantifiable scientific proof and evidence before acceptable into mainstream validation. This provides a problem for subjects that cannot be studied through a scientific method such as those found under the umbrella of metaphysics. For example anything relating to the concept of divine existence, subtle energy or spirituality. For this reason these subjects have been historically cast aside as inconsequential, unworthy of formal acknowledgement or credibility.

Challenges of the 21st Century.

The focus on rational thinking resulted in many scientific breakthroughs and advances particularly in the West with its dominance extended over regions with lessor skill and influence. It can be argued that many social ills of today are created as a result of linear ego based thinking within a society blinded to the impact of decisions that are based on self interest. We live at a time of so many great challenges, each with the potential to send us into a new dark age. Author James Martin lists some of these challenges:

On an individual basis, we might be in circumstances that require of us to make decisions that are not in our own or the collectives best interest. Listening to your intuition sometimes requires of us to take the road less travelled or to make a decision that is not the most convenient thing to do but we know instinctively will be the better choice.

Challenges of The 21st Century.

The Law of Attraction Parable

The Search for Meaning in the 21st Century.

The emphasis on an external world created a growing sense of self alienation with many withdrawing into their inner world in search for meaning and coping. As an example the Times magazine of 13 February 2014 cover feature cited the mindful revolution as the new trend pervading all spheres of society from fortune 500 companies to Silicon valley.

Paradigm Shifts of the 21st Century.

The spread of inner reflection practice or mindfulness as a means of connecting to our inner selves lead to a number of scientific studies which verify and attests to its many benefits from less stress, anxiety, happiness, and inner wisdom resulting in its greater acceptance and a paradigm shift towards an inner focus to exploring ones connection to source energy and a growing recognition that the world is interdependent as opposed to the historic belief that God or source energy is distant and separate from man.

Universal Laws As the keys to Mastering the Universe.

The popular book 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne popularized ancient Eastern knowledge that all is a vibration of energy. Thoughts and feelings are conscious energies that we must be sensitive to if we are to live our lives fully.

God is within you. Gospel of Thomas.

Is our Intuitive Centre The Portal to our Soul?

Inner reflection as an acceptable practice to exploring inner wisdom has led people to question the contexts and meanings of past ancient texts, many of which remain hidden or unavailable to the masses through social conditioning.

The Movie 'The Davinci code with Tom Hanks although based on fiction created curiosity around the context of sacred texts.

One such texts, was the Gnostic teachings. The Gnostics were the early Christians and mystics believed that they had a direct knowing of subtle energies. They strongly believed that our intuition centre is the seat of our soul and preached that we must listen for its insights and act upon them because it is here that we are connected to the divine source from which access to universal energy flows and where our spirit guides communicate with each of us.

They believed that the mind was the portal through which low frequency amoeba like inorganic but intelligent dark energies called Archons or Jinns lead us to our not self and thrive on fear, anger and hatred. Hence the caution in spiritual texts 'Fear not ' as dark energy feeds off fear and cowers in the presence of the fearless.

Social science and Psychology teach that the mind is an extremely complex sophisticated tool but not very stable or reliable. Spiritual teachers teach that the mind is designed to carry out the will of our heart and intuitive centre. When we act in accordance with this principle our lives naturally become meaningful, however when we ignore or remain unconscious to the mechanics of our energy flow, we open ourselves to the dark energy which easily dominate and influence us through our rational minds when we are disconnected from our true selves. This is because the mind is not a stable organism, it is easily influenced and quick to react through its ego when it senses a perceived threat. If you doubt this point - think about your ego. How easy do you react when you believe that you have been wronged in some way?How easy do you become angry or frustrated because of something someone said or did? These behaviours are motivated from our mind space and ego which needs to always be right and in control no matter what.

On a collective basis we need not look very far to see evidence of what happens when we ignore our inner wisdoms in favour of ego driven pursuits. All of mans collective suffering from wars, famine to wide scale greed and corruption results from our failure to recognize and heed the correct natural flow of energy.

Studies on Intuition

Scientist have found that we have two different ways of processing data. Through our subconscious which is controlled by our right brain and is quicker than data being processed through the more analytical part of our left brain. They report that although intuition is not based on logic but on instinct it proved to make correct choices and communicated through subtle energy differences in the body. A number of different experiments tests were conducted. In the one experiment, two sets of cards are provided. The one stack lead to small gains and no losses and the other, big gains but also big losses. After playing the cards a number of times, the sweat glands on the subjects palms opened slightly when they reached for the dangerous deck.

You can read more about these experiments here.

How To Access Your Intuition.

The Layers to your Active Mind.

It is easier to master something when you understand how it works. The intuitive mind is hidden and needs stillness in order to access it. Most people need to work at getting through to it - Hence the reason for meditation.

The active mind consists of various layers. Before you reach your intuitive mind, you will often find yourself going through the other layers of your other minds - The subconscious, imaginative and rational minds.

The Subconscious Mind.

The Subconscious mind represents the past and is accessed through your memory. You can recognize it when experiencing feelings of happiness, sadness, angry, etc.. It is a faithful and loyal servant and will do anything to help you manifest your desires when you ask it for something.

Ask it to help you tune into your intuitive mind.

Your Imaginative Mind.

The imaginative mind represents future possibilities - feelings associated with it are excitement and anxiety. Once you are relaxed , you may meet your subconscious mind and then your imaginative mind might want to intervene. It will listen to you if you ask it to stop imagining and help you access the intuitive mind.

The Rational Mind.

The third part of your active mind is called the rational Mind. It is like a child and does not like listening to you. It always wants to be in control whether through flattery or criticism. When you are experiencing thoughts of being critical, cynical with negative energy you know you are in the rational mind. It competes with your subconscious mind for control and is not well behaved or helpful.

If you have an active rational mind you can either try to ignore it or occupy it with a mantra whilst trying to access your intuitive mind.

The Intuitive Mind.

Congratulations! You are now in the intuitive mind. You know this because it Is non judgemental, calm and peaceful and accepts you for who your are. Ask for help on any issue and it will advise you in a way that you understand it. It can also tune into the subconscious mind of others and connects you to information that they are willing to share with you.

There are two higher minds which reside above the intuition mind. Think of these three minds as a three-layer wedding cake. Our intuitive mind forms the base of this cake. The top layer is the receptive mind and in-between is our conscience. Above this three-tier cake and surrounding it in all directions forever is the mind of the divine.

The ancients called this the mouth of the divine and considered it our most valuable asset in divine creation. This is the mouth through which source energy speaks individually to each of us. All we have to do is to be receptive and open to receive its promptings.

What we receive from the divine (source energy) we filter through our conscience mind space. Since we have free will we can decide what's right or wrong for us.

Steps to Accessing Your Intuitive Mind.

Place your body in a comfortable position

  1. Relax your body and release all tension.
  2. Breathe deeply.
  3. Focus your subconscious mind on tuning into your intuitive mind
  4. Refocus your imaginative mind on tuning into your intuition mind
  5. Ignore or occupy your rational mind with a mantra.
  6. Listen attentively for your intuitive mind

Decide how you want to use your intuitive mind. Write down the insights in your journal. Then approach your intuitive mind with the expectation it will do exactly what you want it to do.

It will answer your questions or be quiet as you wish.

The goal of meditation is enlightenment. The Universal rule is that you will ultimately attain that which you seek if you just keep seeking.

The more you practice these steps the stronger and longer your intuition will become. if you fail to listen and act on its advise though it will weaken as with anything that you don't use. You will lose it.

Benefits of Meditation

How To Improve Your Intuition.

Experts agree that intuition can be learnt and improves with practice. The more you use your intuition the stronger it will get.

Here are some ways to develop and improve your intuition.

  • Conscious awareness of where your intuitive energy centre is located.

Most people report it as lying in their stomach region but it differs from person to person. For some it is located below the belly button (Socral energy centre) for others above the belly button in the solar plexis region and some may even feel it in the heart region.

An interesting perspective of intuitive energy can be found in the study of human design a fascinating system that provides a free chart which locates your intuitive centre and provides an insight as to your component energy and how you are designed to make decisions.

  • First Impressions.

When you first meet someone, the very first impressions you get of them is registered in your intuitive centre. Note what you are thinking. This impression is seldom wrong. It will provide information as to whether the person is honest or not, whether you have a good connection with them or whether you should steer clear.

  • Meditate.

practice stillness through meditation. It will help you to connect with your inner being and strengthen your intuition.

  • Follow Your Hunches.

Bear in mind that the energy from your intuition lasts for just a second or two and you therefore need to be sensitive to its calling. when you get a hunch follow through immediately.

  • Guess who's Calling.

When the phone rings guess who is calling. often you will get a hunch.

When you have a question that requires a yes or no answer - Flip a coin and feel the energy in your intuition centre.

Intuition is something that is based on feeling and not thinking so always place your attention on what you are feeling when you are in a situation.

  • Pay attention to your instincts and what is going on around you.

Pay attention to numbers, messages, billboards, songs, snip bits of conversations and things that seem to stand out. These often contain information relating to an issue that you have. When you find something that you are meant to take note of , you will notice the resonance in your intuition centre change.

Conclusion. Change Your Inner World - Change The World.

Organized structures through social conditioning places its value on a system of left brained rational thinking and as a consequence does not formally endorse the use of Intuition as the source from where we instinctively know is the core that always leads us to correct decisions and a fulfilling life purpose.

Through systematic undervaluing of our true nature, mankind has reached a point that threatens to impoverish and destroy his true essence and possibly the world as we know it.. We cannot change the system collectively but when we individually consciously decide to acknowledge and change the direction of our own energy system by filtering first any thoughts through our hearts and intuition centre, we will be directed to do the right thing for ourselves and in alignment with the interest of the universe - Hence we don't only bring peace, happiness and abundance into our own lives but we also change the world. One person at a time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Please pass on this message to all those you love and with time hopefully others will follow.
