Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen Defeat the Golden and Silver Knights at the Forsaken Cathedral

In Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, the hero and party must enter the forsaken cathedral and defeat the silver and golden knights. For all the glamorous names tagged to the gold and silver knights, they are really skeletons wrapped in supreme armor. But are the knights powerful indeed. The gold knight has magnificent strength. The silver knight has undead heal and is virtually invulnerable and cannot be damaged when it casts defensive shield. The hero and party will have a hard time trying to defeat the gold and silver knights. This will provide a guide on the tactics the mage hero can use to defeat the knights. It will also provide a brief guide on how to transverse the tower of treason repaid and the rest of the forsaken cathedral area.

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen Explore the Tower of Treason Repaid

The forsaken cathedral is accessed from the Tower of Treason Repaid. The Tower of Treason Repaid is accessed after getting void key and unlocking the door.

It is not so much an exploration of the Tower of Treason Repaid as it is a run-through of the area. The Tower of Treason Repaid is shaped like the midnight helix. From the start point above, run down the wooden planks and jump past the gaps. The monsters encountered here are the succubi flying above and the cyclops at the bottom. The hero can simply run past them or he can engage the enemies. For this particular hero, defeating the knights take center stage, so race down the wooden planks and past the cyclops at the bottom and head for the door into the forsaken cathedral.

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen Defeat the Golden and Silver Knights

The hero and party do not immediately encounter the golden and silver knights at the entrance. Instead, they encounter grotesque fat and very large undead at the entrance. These are a nightmare to defeat, so run past them and reach a spiral staircase. Descend and reach a room.Turn round the corner and reach the gold and silver knights.

The golden knight has the following tactics:

  • charge at the hero and party
  • swing at the hero with its sword

Avoid these two attacks by being on the move all the time, and the hero will be fine.

The silver knight has the following tactics:

  • cast area spell slow
  • cast undead heal and raise the dead - this spell will heal the silver knight and raise the gold knight to maximal health after it has been put down; it can be very frustrating indeed for the party after putting down the gold knight to see it being raised again.
  • swing at the hero with its sword

The key tactics here is to deal with the silver knight and put it down first. As the mage hero, run around and avoid the attacks of the knights. Choose a safe spot. The safest spot is to climb the ledge around this area. The knights will not chase after the hero here. Launch high comestion repeatedly at the silver knight. It is vulnerable to fire. The silver knight will be defeated. Then aid your fallen pawns and allow their melee attacks to finish off the golden knight. Collect the golden and silver knights loot as this can be used to craft magical items.

Proceed onward in the forsaken cathedral. There will be more undead and two banshees near a broken riftstone beyond the areas of the knights. Once they are taken care of, be prepared to deal with the real boss monsters of this area.
