Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen Defeat the Gazer
Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen Defeat the Gazer
In Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen, the hero and party must defeat the Gazer. The Gazer stands or floats in the way between the hero and the deeper and darker depths of Bitterblack Isle. The Gazer has many weapons, including its iconic gazer like ray, its many annoying small tentacles, and its many fire breathing large tentacles and its devastating spells. This will provide the hero with tactics on how to defeat the gazer and descend into the lower levels of Bitterblack Isle.
Dragon’s Dogma Tactics Used by the Gazer to Defeat the Hero
The Gazer has many weapons and tactics at its disposal to eliminate the hero. When the hero and party first appear at the Shrine of Futile Truth, the gazer will start attacking with its tentacles. And then the tactics will rotate.
- First, the small tentacles will arise from the ground and attack the hero and party.
- Next, the larger tentacles will arise from the ground and throw fireballs at the hero. The fireballs will deal a lot of damage to the hero, so run away when possible.
- Finally, the gazer will send forth a large tentacle to eviscerate the hero straight on from the ground. This attack will cause the most amount of damage and will send the hero with low health points sprawling onto the ground.
- The tentacles are not the only attacks of the gazer. It will also open it’s big eye and throw a gazer laser beam onto the hero or party. This beam will cause affliction and slow the hero down.
- When these attacks are combined, the gazer is a lethal opponent. One can run away from the tentacles but not be able to dodge the gaze or the larger tentacle attacks. In addition, the gazer always has tentacles on it which will snap at the hero.
- Once in a while, the gazer will spill out poisonous gas from its mouth or aperture area.
- The gazer also has a magic spell attack, where it will summon an altar and then prepare a spell incantation which will cause the entire area to be flooded in magical energy. This will cause severe damage to the hero and party.

Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen Tactics to Defeat the Gazer
From the hero’s perspective, the way to defeat the gazer as an archer is not that hard. Simply aim arrows at the eye and defeat it that way.
However, if the hero is a mage, then the situation is tougher.
- The mage hero must dodge the tentacles. Run and escape the tentacles.
- The mage hero will start at the upper levels of the circular chamber. He must run down to the bottom of the chamber. There is a small corridor that leads to a door which will be the exit, once the gazer is defeated. This corridor is crucial. Tentacles can reach this corridor, but it offers a respite area for the gazer attack. This corridor is important when the gazer launches its magic spell. Run into the corridor and hide. Once the magical energies from the magic spell is released, go back out.
- Bring lots of healing potions and substances into the fight against the gazer.
- The gazer’s large tentacle attack can be used to defeat the gazer. Just before the large tentacle comes out, there will be a pool of orange sparkles on the ground. The hero should go and be just underneath the large eye of the gazer. When the orange sparkles appear, run away. The tentacle will come up and smash into the gazer’s eye. This will drop the gazer’s health. When the eye comes out, hit it with all sorts of weapons and spells. This will damage the gazer further.
- Repeat this process until the long health bars of the gazer go to zero. The gazer is defeated.
