Think about your life and all the times you survived up to this point. God loves you regardless of what you have done, and the reason you are here talking to me instead of selling that death product is because God is showing you, through me, that things can get better if you- Give It All To Him. I’m not here to convert you; someone came to me just like I came to you.”

There was concern and a hint of hope in his eyes as he rose from the stoop. He looked at me and said, “Nobody ever explained it to me like that before. Maybe I will give this God thing a try. By the way, my friends call me Angel.” I smiled and walked away, replying that my friends call me Messenger. In his departure, the sounds of sirens had stopped and the thickness that ruled the air had also disappeared. You could even hear birds singing. Hopefully this Angel, who had obviously fallen from grace, would now seek to help the neighborhood grow instead of helping to destroy it. Time was no longer on his side, but I was sent to remind him that our Creator is.
