You can ride the train through the Valley, up the Notch, on a Steam Engine or Diesel. Whether you prefer the Dome Ride, First Class, a Dining Car, or Coach we have a comfortable seat on the train for you and yours!

The North Conway Scenic Rail Road Train Station was built in 1874. Now in the lobby of the Train Station there is a Historical Train Museum which highlights the history of trains in the Mount Washington Valley White Mountains Region.

North Conway Scenic Railroad: Beautiful Country Train Views since 1874!

The Valley Train

If you are looking for a shorter train ride (best with children) then you should consider the Valley Train Ride. The Valley Train is a short ride through the forest and woods of North Conway, NH that ends in Conway, NH. The ride is about 55 minutes.

The Valley Train takes multiple Valley Train Rides daily:

  • 10:30, 1:30 & 4:30 to Conway and 11:30 & 2:30 to Bartlett,
  • A 6:00 "Sunset Train" on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Definitely a must-do for couples and love birds!
  • Hungry? Take advantage of Lunch offered on the 11:30 and 1:30 departures aboard our beautiful First Class dining car Chocorua, and dinner is served on the Sunset Train. You Have to take a ride!
  • Children under 4 years old ride free and friendly dogs are welcome if they are leashed and quiet!

The Notch Train

The Notch Train at the North Conway Scenic Railroad departs at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If you are looking for the best possible train ride experience, be sure to book a First Class Ticket! You will enjoy a 3 course lunch with exclusive views from the Hattie Evans Car!

You will ride through the Woods and Forests, Over Streams and Rivers like the Saco River, over bridges, through Mountain Valleys and you will have so much to see that you will have to bring your camera!

This ride is not for the faint of heart! You will travel through White Mountain Valleys, over Train Bridges and along a Historic Train Railway that has exclusive views of the Mount Washington Valley. You will be travelling up mountains on this ride. Sometimes you will be close to the "edge"!

If you like exciting (and safe) travel, this is the Train Ride for you! It took many years to create this pass through the valleys and the Crawford Notch Train ride is as exciting as it is relaxing. Don't worry if your legs get tired and you need to stretch out a little; the train ride offers an hour layover at at Crawford Station, across from Saco Lake adjacent to the AMC's Highland Center. Perfect stop!
