How to Clean Your Body and Mind
How to get connected
I have read a news about an old church which turned into a shopping complex. It is happening in many places due to the decreasing membership of churches. It reminds me of a passage in the bible. “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
That was a non-active church. Now it is a shopping complex with a lot of people there. Now a days you will find existing churches having shopping points within the church. It is convenient for people who are attending the church to buy and sell things without visiting a market. People do their business inside the church and they worship God too. Over the period, we have seen many changes in the view of worship places. Many famous worship places are attached with areas where you can shop for many things. Our attitude and mindset changed over the years and we do not find any fault in selling and buying things from the church. They know their market and what to sell there. Churches also get a share of profit. So they encourage it.
But Jesus said that you are making it a den of robbers.
Who are you?
Now as per Apostle Paul, we know that we are the temple of God. Because the spirit of God lives within us. That is why we need to keep our body from all the impurities. We need to keep our body pure and holy. If your body is not pure, it is impossible for the spirit of the Lord to live within us. But we have made many shopping complexes within us. What are these shopping complexes? How and why we need to drive out those trading places from within us? Are we making our body a den of robbers?
Know purity to purify yourselves
As per the words of apostle Paul, (Rom 1:28-32) “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
From the above passage, we can list out many trading terminals where different kinds of goods we keep and sell every day for our pleasure. We opened our heart to Satan and his army to take control of. They are doing their business fearlessly and easily. We are not moving a finger to stop it. We just enjoy a momentary pleasure from their business and we allow them to continue. Just like the Churches receiving a share of profit from the business.
If you examine your mind you will find there is a lot of old stock which is displayed there for selling. They are wickedness, evil, greed and depravity, envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. Gossips, slander, God-hater, insolent, arrogance, boastfulness. We invent ways to do evil, disobey our parents, no love, no mercy, no fidelity. We are pleased with those who do that kind of deeds. You know it better than anyone else. Stop for a moment. Explore your mind. Identify what is there in your mind. One by one we need to get them out.
Cleaning work
Just like Jesus did the cleaning, we need to do a cleaning process within us to make our body a House of Prayer. Drive out all the demons who are within us. Stop doing the business of Satan and his army. Clean it by removing them from our heart and body. His shopping points are listed above. When you see a shop of satan alive within you, you need to take immediate action to stop it.
While satan sharing a part of his profit in the form of momentary pleasures, we have to pay a heavy price for his dwelling. We are paying for it without our knowledge. He is bringing sickness and pain into our lives. We are allowing him to trade within us. At the same time, he is preventing us from getting the heavenly blessings which our God offering to those who follow and obey Him. He is preventing us from receiving the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit. He is preventing us from getting material blessings. He is preventing us from getting physical blessings. He is preventing us from getting mental happiness. He is preventing us from getting the eternal life which is offered to us through Jesus Christ. He is pushing us into troubles. He is taking away our happiness and mental peace. His offers are troubles and hardship to us. Pain and sufferings. He is trying to take us away from our beloved Savior and Father in Heaven.
To live a happy, healthy, wealthy and prosperous life, we need to identify his trading terminals and stop it with immediate effect. Ask the Holy Spirit to come and take possession of that place. Don't leave it empty. If you do so, Satan will come with more evil spirits to an empty and clean place to dwell in. So we need to drive out demons who are occupying places in our heart with discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. Let us fill that place with love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It will give us peace and happiness. Moreover, we would be able to receive the eternity which is offered through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Submit yourself to make it a House of Prayer
That is why Apostle James says : (James 4:6-7) But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Let us submit ourselves to God and resist the devil. Stop his shops which are operative within us. Resist the devil. He will flee from us. Don't allow him to carry on his business within us.
Now Jesus wants to enter into the temple. That temple is you. He wants to do some cleaning process within you. Just as “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there” he wants to drive out all the buyers and sellers. He wants to overturn the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. Because “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
He wants to free you. You are His house. He wants to change the “den of robbers” into a “House of Prayer.”
Often you may be wondering why your prayers are not gone beyond the roof of your house. Because you are praying from the 'den of robbers”. You need to change it into a House of prayer. Then only you'll get answers to your prayers.
Do you allow Jesus to clean you and make it a 'House of Prayer”?
Have a successful spiritual life.
