A great way to start any potluck dinner is with this great tasting recipe.

When hosting a potluck dinner I always add a pot of rice and some kind of egg noodles to my menu it just makes the main meal that much better to enjoy.

Starting A Potluck Club

I remember years ago there were 10 of us who liked to cook so we formed a little club (which became known as “The Pot luck Club”), and once a month they all meet at the home of a club member for a dinner prepared in the style of a particular country. Each member was responsible for bringing one course of the dinner which meant that no one person was overburdened and all got to expand their repertoire and partake in a spectacular meal. One of their all-time great dinners was this Chinese banquet.

Here is how it works: You, as the hostess, offer your home and dinnerware, and make the main course. You inform the others in advance what the other courses will be, and they choose among themselves which they would like to make. Preliminary cooking is done in your guests’ own homes. Final cooking, where necessary, is done in your home, although the menu is planned to keep last minute traffic down.

Each meal is made up of a number of dishes. The different dishes are places on the table, and guests help themselves to a little of each. The traditional way to plan a meal is to count on one dish for each two people plus rice or noodles. It more guests are expected, the cook will increase the number of dishes, not the quantity of the dish. Recipes for the ten dishes follow, enough to feed 30 people well.

Methods/steps

Rinse and drain drumettes. Mince garlic and cut pineapple into 1 inch cubes. Combine the salt, pepper, honey, soy sauce, pineapple, vegetable oil and garlic in a bowl and mix well. Place drumettes in slow cooker and pour sauce over the wings. Cook covered on low setting for 6 hours.

Forming a potluck club could be a great way to save money for you and your friends who like to entertain and have dinner parties, this way no one person has to spend a lot of money on having friends over to have a good time and by doing it once a month or twice a month it will save a lot of clean up time at your home because your not spending a lot of money entertaining all the time. Enclosed is a potluck party recipe that I have made when it was my turn to host the potluck club event I’m sure you will love it.
